How it works
Two payment flows — one integration
Somonly supports both online invoice payments and payments by account number from banking apps. Your project doesn't need to know how SmartPay works.

Online invoice payment
The project creates a payment — the customer pays via a link or in their bank app.

One HTTP request is enough to create a payment, and one handler is enough to learn it was paid.

Get a project key
An administrator creates the project in the Somonly dashboard and issues an sm_live_… key and a webhook secret.

Create a payment
POST /api/v1/payments with the X-Project-Key header. Retrying with the same order_id is safe — requests are idempotent.

Redirect the customer
Open payment_link or the deeplink_url of the selected bank (bank_id).

Receive the webhook
Verify X-Somonly-Signature — an HMAC-SHA256 of the raw request body with the project's secret — and reply with 2xx.
Contact us by phone or Telegram and tell us about your project. We create the project in the Somonly dashboard and issue an sm_live_… key and a webhook secret. After that a single POST /api/v1/payments request is enough — and your customers can pay with 24+ payment services of Tajikistan.

Why do I need Somonly if SmartPay exists?
SmartPay issues one API key per merchant. Somonly is integrated with SmartPay once and distributes payments between projects, giving each one its own sm_live_… key — so a new project starts accepting payments without a separate integration.
How long does it take to connect a new project?
About 5 minutes: an administrator creates the project in the dashboard and sets the callback URL and account number prefix, and the project team receives an sm_live_… key and a secret to verify webhooks.
How does Somonly know which project a payment by account number belongs to?
Every project is assigned a unique account number prefix. When SmartPay sends a check or pay request, Somonly identifies the project by the prefix, forwards the request to it and returns the project's response to the customer.
How can I verify that a webhook really came from Somonly?
Every webhook carries an X-Somonly-Signature header — an HMAC-SHA256 of the raw request body computed with your project's secret. The event type is sent in the X-Somonly-Event header. Compute the signature on your side and compare the values with a constant-time comparison.
What happens if my server was unavailable?
Somonly retries the webhook delivery several times with increasing intervals. Every attempt and your server's responses are visible in the request log of the admin dashboard.
Will a duplicate be created if a payment request is sent twice?
No. Payment creation is idempotent: a repeated request with the same order_id within a project returns the payment that was already created.
What currency are payments made in?
All amounts are specified and accounted in Tajik somoni (TJS).
